Ontario trio Deux Trois have
chosen a path of high ambition with new single ‘Late Night Girls’. The dirty,
scuzzy guitars and sultry, sweet vocals of Nadia Pacey bring the likes of the
Long Blondes, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Patti Smith, Sleater Kinney and the Breeders
to mind so they’re immediately up against it. But don’t worry, these three have
got the chops with moody drums giving this a menacing edge and a late flurry in
to the kind of territory that PJ Harvey and the Gossip sometimes occupy sealing
the deal. If you like the darker side of music and do your best work in the wee
small hours when everyone else is tucked up in their beds then you will love this,
and we should probably hang out…not in the wee small hours though, that’s alone
time.
