BLUEYS IN THE CAB – SINGLE REVIEW

Blueys in the Cab – Now You’re Gone
Blueys in the Cab - Now You're Gone

Release Date: Out Now

Plymouth quartet Blueys in the Cab came my way all rough and ready a while back but there was a glimmer of something behind the eyes so I’m glad to see them back in my inbox. New single ‘Now You’re Gone’ is powered by a tank full of 90s grunge and steers just the right side of Stiltskin towards more American influences with a Pearl Jam vibe mixed with a little British hint in the grumbling guitars of Bush in the quieter moments. There’s still a little way to go as this track lacks the tingling feeling in the chorus but I can see this working well as a mid-set rocker and there’s a renewed slickness to the arrangement, performance and production that is admirable. These guys are definitely starting to shift up through the gears and that can only be a good thing.
