I have to admit this one caught
me off guard somewhat. Most male singer-songwriters these days tend to be a
little over earnest and more concerned with image over the heart of a song.
Now, that’s not to say Albert Man isn’t a fine-looking figure of a man but his
new single ‘Say Something Loving’ is a genuinely tender and sweet song that is
as pure as emotion gets. Sure, Albert Man has the kind of voice you’d expect to
hear on American radio in the middle of the day but that doesn’t change the
message of this song which is pretty heartfelt. The soft melodies and pulsing beat
just provide a bed for these emotions to be laid out on and you can hear this
in the pivotal scene of a rom-com where the nerdy hero gets enough gumption to
go and tell the girl that he loves her after all. A timeless, heartbroken love
song that might just do your soul some good.
