BLUE NATION – SINGLE REVIEW

Blue Nation – Good Times
Blue Nation - Good Times

Release Date: 8th December 2017

I’m guessing Birmingham trio Blue Nation don’t get booked to play in the hospitality suite at Villa Park very often but it’s the Villains who are missing out as these boys know how to rock. ‘Good Times’ is a slice of heavy, pumping rock’n’roll within one foot in psycheldia and the other in the deep south of the U S of A, steeped in swamp rock and bourbon. There isn’t an inch of fat on this track and the vocals of Neil Murdoch cope with the quite, menacing tones just as well as they do with the gravelly rock moments that give this the energy that makes it so appealing. Think Hendrix, Black Keys, Boy Hits Car, the Lad Classic, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Led Zeppelin and you’re in the right ball park so turn it up to 11 and get your air guitar out.
