DAN OWEN – SINGLE REVIEW

Dan Owen – Hideaway (Atlantic Records)
Dan Owen - Hideaway

Release Date: Out Now

Dan Owen is steadily building himself something of a reputation as a moody, broody troubadour and this latest single, ‘Hideway’, is not going to halt that reputation. The steady, ominous stomp of the rhythm mixed with the chain-gang guitar rattle provide the perfect foil for Owen’s husky, wild-west vocal which could knock a man of a horse with its power alone. We’re taking James Morrison but with way more passion or Laura Marling collaborating with Florence + The Machine but hired gun on vocals. This is addictive, powerful and infectious stuff that hits you right in the feels but it’s hard not to invite that kind of sensation. It’s gloriously luxuriant and I can only urge you revel in it.
