DANTE ELEPHANTE - SINGLE REVIEW

Dante Elephante - Never Trust A Junkie (Super Fan 99)
Dante Elephante - Never Trust A Junkie

Release Date: Out Now

Socially responsible singles are few and far between these days and it was the Prodigy's 'Charly Says' that last made me think about my own safety whilst having a good time. So, it's rather pleasing when US upstarts  amble along with the sage advice contained within their new single 'Never Trust A Junkie'. This is a two and a half minute romp through grunge-pop guitars and shuffling beats that you would expect to hear coming from the window of a slacker living in the basement of their parent's house. Bits of Weezer, Dandy Warhols, Pixies and  the Lemonheads waft out from a tune that doesn't hang around too long but isn't in any rush to leave either. The vibe is summery but there is a tinge of sadness in there as well although that may just be the Autumn affecting my mood.
