Hitting the shelves today (as
much as anything hits any shelves these days) is the new single from hot London
trio Gospel and you really ought to get yourself involved if you're not
already. 'Ain't Gonna Let You In' is a woozily seductive piece of electro pop
that feels like Portishead but with sex appeal or Florence + The Machine but
with more subtlety about proceedings. The breathy vocals of Beth Anderton-Allen
mingle with the gently undulating beats and sparsely processed melodies to
create a vibe that is both enticing and slightly aloof. Essentially, this is
the musical equivalent of that woman or man in a club who is impossibly
gorgeous and sitting alone but who won't even make eye contact with you if you
approach them so you just end up staring at them trying to guess their name.
