THE HAPPY HOLLOWS - SINGLE REVIEW

The Happy Hollows - Astrid (Pesky Fruit)
The Happy Hollows - Astrid

Release Date: Out Now

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! You might be about to fall in love with your new favourite band. Los Angeles band The Happy Hollows are a trio of indie-poppers with a slick, edgy sense of cool that is refreshingly infectious. This latest single comes ahead of a forthcoming jaunt to the UK and if 'Astrid' is anything to go by these guys will be turning an awful lot of heads. Think LadyHawke, Ellie Goulding but way, way cooler or Hot Chip with more soul and you're not even close. Singer/Guitarist Sarah Negahdari is an immense talent, channelling the likes of Kate Bush and Karen O at various points as her vocals soar above the rainbows and trawl the gutters with the curl of a lip. Throw in some sumptuous synths, a driving beat and layers of guitars and you've got yourself a hook laden indie-pop smash in the making. Listen up UK, this is your chance to get in on the ground floor with something special, your chance to say you were 'there'. Go forth and adore them for they are The Happy Hollows.
