Julian Grimm is the 2nd Brazilian
who has contacted me in the last month having made the trip from South America
to London in search of musical fame and fortune. Having lived in London and
visited Brazil, I still can't quite understand why you would swap the two over
but I guess the lure of the bright lights and Camden High Street is still
strong. Grimm's new single, 'Looking For Ya', is an intense, grungy, menacing piece of rock
that takes a little while to kick in but when it does then you'd better watch
out. Galloping drums and crunching guitars all mingle with the low drones of
Grimm's vocals to create something dirty, murky and thoroughly enticing. Add
this to a video where our Brazilian hero dresses up as Russell Brand as
imagined by the Yellow Submarine illustrators and dances expressively in the
woods and you have an import worth paying the extra tax for.
