BEN OWEN - SINGLE REVIEW

Ben Owen - Dirty Little Secret
Ben Owen - Dirty Little Secret

Staffordshire rocker Ben Owen is keen to get off to a storming start in 2015 so he has a single all ready for you in the shape of 'Dirty Little Secret'. The acoustic fuelled fun of said single is pitched somewhere between the raw power of Brother & Bones, the soul'n'roll of James Morrison or Paolo Nutini and the flouncy shirted rock-pop of INXS. Owen has got front-man quality and style which is just as well because his wiry frame occasionally looks ill equipped to man handle his large acoustic instrument. Nevertheless, the song has a catchy chorus and Owen's voice has a pleasingly gravelly quality to it that you can only assume works particularly well live. Not a bad start for the year, let's see where it takes the lad.
