PETITE MELLER - SINGLE REVIEW

Petite Meller - NYC Time (Night Beach Records)
Petite Meller - NYC Time

Hotly tipped pop starlet Petite Meller is back with another single and some remix action to get your feet moving and your hipster asses shaking. 'NYC Time' starts as sprightly, sprinkly, tinkly melody before Meller's impish voice joins in and the light keys, bass line and beats all swoosh in. There's a child like quality to this but, equally, a level of sophistication that many a current pop beau would be happy to achieve. Having said that, the song never really achieves that spin tingling, euphoric moment that would make it a smash day-time radio hit. The additional remix, courtesy of Beatablock3rs, is a little more lively and brings Ellie Goulding and La Roux to mind before it goes all 80s game show theme tune. Including the saxophone solo.
