APOLLO GETS THE GIRL - SINGLE REVIEW

Apollo Gets The Girl - Strange Girl
Apollo Gets The Girl - Strange Girl

If what you are missing in your life is some downbeat, cinematic synth pop with a touch of campness and some sweeping melodies then I might have just found what you are looking for (unlike U2, they still haven't found what they're looking for). Glasgow trio Apollo Gets The Girl have a new single out in the form of 'Strange Girl' which has the intentions of My Life Story, the heart of Depeche Mode, the swagger of the Killers and has spent a year travelling in Europe to pick up some juicy synth sounds. The drum sound is huge which is something that gets overlooked in this genre at times so, y'know, props. All in all this is a sumptuous and decadent piece of music that you should only ever listen to while rolling around on a pile of money while someone sprays expensive and rare alcopops all over you.
