Nottingham trio Kagoule are back
with a new single at the end of the month and it's a mighty meaty piece of
alt-rock. 'It Knows It' bursts in to your ears with the same intense and edgy
style as a Smashing Pumpkins tune as notes are wrung out of the guitar rather
than being played while the drums clatter and shatter in the background. There
is a definite British edge to the sounds Kagoule make, though, and elements of
My Vitriol, Addict and the more intense end of the 90s wedge all come through
as the some builds to a swirling climax full of pent up energy and gritted
teeth. The main thing to get excited about is if these guys sound this furious
on a Soundcloud page then their live shows can be nothing short of incendiary.
