FAILURE MACHINE - SINGLE REVIEW

Failure Machine - Basement Split Vol. 2
Failure Machine - Basement Split Vol. 2

Everyone has that buddy that you have the best times with and always ends up sleeping on your couch a little too long. Your girlfriend doesn't approve but a night out with that friend is worth 100 drinks with any of your other friends. Failure Machine are the musical equivalent of that friend; rough around the edges but a whole lot of fun and they'll always attract the women. This single consists of a couple of well chosen and superbly tackled cover versions with the Sonny Bono hit 'Bang Bang'. The horns, the rattle of the drums, the scratchy guitar - it's all part of the puzzle but the puzzle is held together with some seriously sexy, soulful lyrics. The other cover is the Motown classic 'Where Did Our Love Go?' which has been turned in to scuzzy, punky, soulful ballad with rich horns and  a wicked fresh guitar solo. Essentially, these guys are either the friends you will never grow out or the greatest wedding band of all time - either way everybody wins, right? Am I right? Yes, I am right. Now gimme some sugar...
