Manchester has a long line of
musical greatness oozing out of its heart and Go Native are taking their place
in the queue behind the likes of New Order, Delphic, Everything Everything and
Electronic. 'Atom Heart' is the lead single from forthcoming EP and is a slow
builder but by the time it has built up to an almighty crescendo it is entirely
worth the wait. The layers of undulating synths, throbbing bass, snappy drums
and relentless guitars just don't stop growing and the vocals of front-man Nick
Toone weave in and out of the music beautifully to create a richly textured
dance tune that has depth as well as beats. Not an easy trick to pull off but
one that the Mancunians seem to have down pat.
