BROTHER & BONES - SINGLE REVIEW

Brother & Bones - Long Way To Go (Last Step Records)
Brother & Bones - Long Way To Go

Release Date: 24th February 2014

Things are really starting to hot up for LWM favourites Brother & Bones and it couldn't be happening to a more deserving bunch of lads. This latest single, 'Long Way To Go' comes from the 'To Be Alive' EP and is classic Brother & Bones if such a thing exists for a relatively young band. The pulsating bass line and Rich Thomas' soulful vocals wake you gently from your musical slumber before those pounding drums and embellishing percussive tones join in to add a range that so many bands never manage to achieve. Then add in the meaty male vocal harmonies and a picking up of the pace that quickens the pulse as well as jolting the muscles in to life. There is an almost filmic quality to this tune that could see this being used at moment of romantic decision in a big blockbuster - you know the kind of moment I mean, cut the wire and save the world but lose the girl but save the one person you love at the expense of all humanity. Y'see, Brother & Bones write big tunes for big moments and that's what I love so much about them.
