REVERE - SINGLE REVIEW

Revere - These Halcyon Days (V2 Benelux)
Revere - These Halcyon Days

Release Date: 7th October 2013

Wow. Just...wow. This is one of those moments that reminds me why I plug myself in to my laptop on a daily basis in the search for the new, the great and the exciting in the world of music. London seven piece (or septet if you're feeling fancy) Revere have a huge, cinematic sound that is beautifully exemplified on 'These Halcyon Days' with urgent guitars, multi layered vocals, a huge range of instrumentation and some fantastic arrangements. Imagine, if you will, a British Arcade Fire channelling the spirit of My Life Story and Divine Comedy from the 90s and slapping a big ol' sexy deep voice on the top and you're pretty much there. That said, if you can imagine all that then you'd have started a band as fine as Revere so you're better of listening to the single. What's more, the B-side is a woozy but fairly faithful version of Depeche Mode's 'Enjoy The Silence', a song that you can never hear too many times. Touché, Revere, touché.
